Happy New Year to you all. Well, I'm back after the longest time I've left this baby on her own (apart from a few Dakar articles which I managed to do on the road). So for the year, expect the regular daily news & entertainment you've been seeing over the last decade. I've made some minor tweaks here and there on the site during some downtime, and more coming. Here's what's new: Facebook I've stopped the Facebook Groups section, and started a Facebook Fan Page instead. I know many were following the stories via Facebook, but I was not able to automatically let the articles appear in the Facebook Groups section, while I do have that possibility in the Facebook Page. They appear a few hours after they have been published. So, you can drop the groups subscription (if you want), and become a "FAN" of Bikes in the Fast Lane Facebook page (I like the terminology better.... fan ... hmmm... do I have any groupies?). In the Fan Page, you can follow the articles (they will appear on your normal Facebook feed), have discussions, etc. Click here to go to the Facebook Page of Bikes in the Fast Lane . Newsletter
After all the debacles of the weekly newsletter, with service providers going bankrupt, or suddenly wanting tons of money, I've decided to make my own newsletter service, responsible to only one customer.... me. I've done some testing last month, and the service seems to work (it only crashed once). So you can subscribe to this free weekly newsletter, giving you a round up of all articles that have appeared during the last 7 days. The newsletter is emailed every Sunday. I've been wrestling with the fact that I had quite a few people who were subscribed to the "old" newsletter, and was wondering if I should import all the email addresses, but then I decided not to. I'll be starting the database totally new, and don't want to be confused with a spammer. When you do subscribe, you'll receive an email from me asking you to confirm the subscription. That's a simple matter of pressing a link in the email I send. Un-subscribing is done in a similar manner, you'll find the way at the bottom of the weekly newsletter. I'll keep the daily newsletter in the hands of Feedburner/Google for the time being. Click here to go to the newsletter subscription page . iPhone Edition This site now automatically recognizes if you are reading the articles via iPhone or PC. If it's an iPhone, you are sent to the mobile version automatically. I'm still working on a better way to send you over, since now you are sent to the main page, not a specific article that you may have been trying to read. Patience.... Twitter You can also follow this site on Twitter. Click here to access it More new stuff will be coming over the next few months while I try to remain up to date with technology, trends and culture. And yes, I'm looking into Google Wave (but for the life of me, I can't figure its use).
