 Many Chinese motorcycle manufacturers will clone successful motorcycles without any hesitation, copying most details of the original bike. One of these manufacturers is CF Moto , who are known to have unbashfully copied the Kawasaki ER-6N. Now they are trying their hands on the very successful Honda STX1300 Pan-European. Called the CF Moto 650TR, the motorcycle is almost totally identical in "look" as the original Pan European. Just look at the photo below. Apart from the sidecases, parts of the cowl and the logo, it's identical. CF Moto 650TR vs Honda Pan European | Of course, the only thing that is identical to the original is the "look". The engine is not a 1300cc, but a 650cc. It develops about 60 HP, though their specs mention 70. The 2 cylinders have 4 valves per cylinder, within an injection system from Marelli and a suspension from Kayaba. Part of the ignition system comes from Ducati. So a mixture of goodies from reputable companies. The bike weighs some 200 kgs and has 17" wheels. The bike is already on sale in Europe in Poland, where it is being sold under the Junak name. The price is rumored to around the €5000 mark ... cheap. Jonway, a Chinese motorcycle manufacturer has cloned the BMW 650 Scarver. Instead of the 650 engine, they provide 125, 250 or 300 cc engines, but still, it's an exact replica of the BMW. Illegal or approved by BMW? |
