In fact, here a France, a motorcycle-riding-clown did run for President of France a few years back. Coluche  made a good run at the presidency, but eventually he dropped out when it became apparent that he might win, and he started receiving death threats. But he did earn a Guinness world speed record on a motorcycle, riding on a Yamaha 750cc motorcycle at a record speed of 252 kph (156 mph).....
Coluche died in a motorcycle accident in 1986.
