As you probably know, the French like going on strike. Unions are very powerful here, and at the drop of a hat, they go on strike (in French it's called "Greve"). The laws are very much in favor for going on strike, so before negotiations, works go on strike, and then start negotiating whatever deemed wrong The civil service, French government owned companies, are the worse. The railroads are more often on strike than functioning properly, and it drives people up the wall. One utility has recently started going on strike. The French electricity company, EDF, had started wildcat strikes, turning the power off in cities and villages, causing havoc. There was a public outcry, since often hospitals, retirement homes and companies were badly hit. So EDF changed their strategy, and finally the general public, also the motorcycle riding public, is applauding! So what's their new strike strategy? Simple, they turn off the electricity for the speed radars!! Don't you love it... No speed radars!
