We've all heard about all the victims of the airplane shutdown over Europe over the last few days. First of all there are all the passengers who are stranded around the world trying to get home. Often they need to pay for overpriced hotel rooms, meals, etc, something no foreseen in their budgets. The airlines are suffering, since their loss of revenue is enormous, just when they were still on shaky grounds after the financial crisis. Freight is another major victim, with tons of spoiled goods stocked in depots waiting to be flown to other parts of the world. But another victim, not mentioned on TV or the newspapers, are the motorcycle taxis. Some 50% of their daily revenue comes from transporting passengers from and to airports. It's going to be tough for them to work in normal conditions over the next few weeks! I just hope they don't suffer too much, since at this stage of the game, they don't need it.
