An institution for all British motorcycle riders, but also for motorcycle history buffs around the world, the Ace Cafe in London is an institution. It's the Elvis Presley of Rockers, the Michael Jackson of Pop or the Pavarotti of Opera (okay, so they are all dead, but Ace Cafe is definitely not). Ace Cafe was built in 1938 to cater to the increasing traffic going and coming from London, it quickly became popular with motorcycle riders. Mods, Rockers, cafe racers, bobbers or just plain motorcycles and their plain bikers, anyone who is into riding a motorcycle or scooter and lives in London will have visited Ace Cafe at one stage or another. But thanks to its reputation and "cool biker" image, Ace Cafe is, and will be, the place to visit when travelling to London.
The Ace Cafe a long time ago. | Building on its international image, Ace Cafe is expanding, and the territory they want to conquer is the USA. Ace Cafe are planning to open 10 outlets in North America. Plans to open the first one are fully underway, and an announcement is expected shortly. But you will not have to wait for very long to sample the famous British motorcycle culture... a first Ace Cafe outlet, though temporary, will be erected for the grand opening of Dime City Cycles in Largo, FL. Starting May 14th, you'll be able not only to get a taste of the Ace Cafe there, with all its motorcycle memorabilia, but also meet the Ace Cafe boss, Mark Wilsmore. So if you're in the area, the opening starts at 3 PM on the 14th of May at 2025 Lake Ave. SE, Largo, FL 33771 .
The Ace Cafe very popular today | For those of you who think the venue is a bit too far, rejoice.... an outlet will be opening around your area, probably. And who knows, maybe Ace cafe will become the next Hard-Rock Cafe... a place you can hang out with your motorcycle and your riding buddies. Click here to read more about Ace Cafe's expansion .
