Sometimes ads can be really funny, or entertaining, or just informative. And sometimes they are just weird. In the latter category, Shell Mastercard in Norway have released a series of ads cumulating in several webisodes (like a TV series on the internet). It's a viral marketing attempt, and includes Facebook, ads, videos and other clever gadgets. When you see the ads (below), you'd think it's some motorcycle gang, or crazy motorcycle people, real colorful bikers. Then scroll down to the bottom, where you'll see links to the webisodes and have a look at the videos. The individual series are in Norwegian, but they are subtitled in English. No, we're not going to see some crazy motorcycle riders, but a Segway gang. But it's a real 1%-er gang, with a prospect and "long" rides. Made by the TBWA agency in Oslo, Norway, they're mildly amusing, or at least the concept is. Notice from the ads that they are all word-plays of famous motorcycle movies or sayings. You can click on all ads for a bigger version. You can see the webisodes by clicking below (you can select the quality of the video at the bottom of the video): Episode 1 Episode 2 Episode 3 Episode 4 Now my question is, what has all this got to do with Shell?
