The Acsas SunShift visor I talked about in 2005 {link} seems to have found the first real use. The visor is Photochromic, ie, it can change darkness at the touch of a button. Helmet manufacturer Akuma is the first, no my knowledge, that's using the SunShift visor. The visor changes from clear to 60% dark tint in less than 60 seconds. The darkness of the visor will depend on how strong the sun is at that moment. In other words, forget about having a helmet with two visors. One will do you. Akuma's setup includes a power unit (needed to pass the electric current through the visor) that's located on the side of the helmet. The power unit, called IPS (Integrated Power System), can also be used to power the new, to be launched, Bluetooth communication system. Price and Availability not known yet.
