You'd think they don't exist, and they don't in most cases, but in Australia, the NSW government has decided to turn off one quarter of their speed cameras since they don't increase safety, just revenue. The Auditor General of New South Wales has decided that in general most of the speed cameras do increase safety, but 25% of the cameras were just cash cows. All of those are being ripped out and not replaced. The "bad" cameras did raise A$ 10 million. It's not like the cameras are going to the dump, they're just being relocated. An honest government... what do you know? (thanks Steve B)
