Well, I've finally arrived at EICMA, and as usual things are not going the way they should, courtesy Italian organizational efforts. Officially, press day starts tomorrow, but tonight is the Ducati press event, and many of us like to come Monday and setup. Get our press credentials sorted out, make sure we've got internet access working (usually it doesn't) and get the lay-of-the-land. But the EICMA organizers have changed things, yet again. This time we received an email with a bar code, which you had to print. Instead of going to the press center and getting your access card and creds, you are told, by email, to go to the machines at the entrance. Of course, this is not something communicated to any of the staff, so nobody knows where to go. Eventually, after many kilometers of walking, I'm directed to the self service machines, who... surprise, surprise ... do not work on Monday, and no one can go in..... Eventually, I was let in, but it's going to be interesting to see how many journalists make it to the Ducati meeting, and how long the queue is going to be tomorrow to get our entrance sorted out. I think many will miss the 1st press conference, that of BMW. Oh well, who ever said our lives were boring....
