Australia has had its fair share of 1%-er biker gang wars over the recent years. The current turf battle is between the Rebels and the Rock Machine motorcycle clubs. Today, the West Australian police raided 9 properties belonging to both gangs, confiscating weapons, ranging from unlicensed firearms to fully automatic heavy-caliber machine guns. Both gangs were getting ready for a drawn out battle after, Nick Martin, the leader of the Rebels, was shot by someone from the Rock Machine. Nick survived the attempt, but his motorcycle was struck by one of the bullets. Biker gangs, bikies as they are called Down Under, have been having a go at each other for years, sometimes in spectacular fashion. The police says the war is about drug turf, the bikies say it's about respect.
