In the state of Victoria (already known for their draconian anti-motorcycle laws), the youngest anti-social biker has lost her motorcycle. The "criminals" are known as "Hoons", The "anti-hoon" law is to stop anti-social behavior like street racing, burnouts and doughnuts in residential streets. A girl on a mini bike - Not Laney! | Sounds about right doesn't it? Well, in this case the "hoon" was a 5 year old girl riding a 49cc mini-motorcycle in her street, while her dad supervised. Laney Frankland has been riding mini- motorcycles for half her life (so for 2 years or so) when obviously someone called the local cops. The cops arrived, took away her mini-motorcycle, and, brace yourself, CALLED A TOW TRUCK to take away the mini-bike (something they could have put under their arms and in the trunk of their car..). Now the parents have the choice of paying within 7 days A$550 (and only get the A$400 bike back after 6 months), or loose the motorcycle completely. In a radio interview, the mother said that if a neighbor had really complained about the noise (the bike was not modified and did not make excessive noise), had the Police arrived and told them to move somewhere else, they would have.. no worries. But no, the cops decided to play the heavy hand and invoke the "hoon" law and confiscate the bike. It looks like they are afraid of dealing with the biker gangs, but have no problem dealing with a 5 year old.... Incredible.... the cops should be ashamed.
