© VDB | Here's another one of those fads that I hope & pray will not spread to other parts of the world (though they do exist already). In Belgium, an enterprising man, Gerdy Vandevyvere (an industrial kitchen maker), made a fake speed radar and placed it in his street. The fake radar wasn't just a static device, it actually incorporates a strobe light, which can be remotely activated, so it looks like it is making photos. The fake radar worked, and cars and motorcycles slowed down. It worked so much that the national TV took interested and did a segment on his "handiwork". So many people called in, trying to find out where they could buy such a device, that the man has decided to mass produce the fake radars, and sell them between €400 and €500 a piece. So before you know it, every street in Belgium is going to have one of these devices, and you'll not know which are the real ones and which are the fake ones. Bastard!
