Belgium may not have a working government (a historical and world record), but they are still doing things. Or maybe because there is no government that things are happening. The authorities are putting in place a motorcycle taxi service in Brussels . To my knowledge it's the first time a government gets involved in starting a motorcycle service, instead of trying to kill off private operators. The first motorcycle taxi service will start later this year, and is started by the government to try to relieve the continuous traffic jams Brussels sees everyday. According to sources, motorcycle taxis in Brussels will cut journey time down by some 50%. Several operator licenses will be granted to motorcycle cabs. This is very good, specially for a country without a government. Other countries should take note, instead of legislating motorcycle taxi companies out of existence, they should help them. Motorcycle taxis aren't a problem, they are a solution. Already the first company has a presence on the web. ScooTaxi will be using hybrid Piaggio MP3 scooters, including on request a trailer if you have more than hand luggage. Click here to access the ScooTaxi site .
