Talk about equality and discrimination. The Minister of Equal Opportunities in Belgium, Joelle Milquet, is fed up with going to car and motorcycle exhibitions, like the show that opens on Friday in Brussels, and see sexy and scantly clad ladies demonstrating cars and bikes. So she's putting a law into place that will forbid this, a bit like a Muslin Sharia law for exhibitions.. I know a lot of women don't like seeing these ladies dressed the way they are in exhibitions, but unfortunately, it works for the manufacturers. When visiting big shows like EICMA or Intermot during press day, the photo journalists (including myself) spend an equal time making photos of motorcycles and the demo girls. The manufacturers know that at least their motorcycles will be shown in the media. At least the Minister wants the law to apply to demo guys as well, though there aren't that many. When visiting an exhibition, the public first sees the demo girls, which attracts them to the stand. Then they'll look at the motorcycles. Maybe we need to put Burqas on the demo staff... male and female. What do you think. Is it too much?
