In Belgium, the Institut Belge pour la Sécurité Routière/Belgisch Instituut voor de Verkeersveiligheid (BIVV/IBSR - The Belgium Road Safety Institute) have started a new motorcycle safety campaign, targeted at car drivers. Some 15,000 posters will be placed and shown around the country, urging car drivers to watch out of motorcycles. The slogan in the poster says "Don't loose sight of motorcycle riders" and consists of the image of a motorcycle and its biker made out of little cars. The second part of the campaign is aimed at the bikers themselves, urging them to ride defensively, with as slogan "The faster you ride, the less you see". They also have some guidelines on their web site for bikers, with an interactive motorcycle. Clicking on any of the 10 golden rules will show you a safety message. Once clicked, a message and guidelines roll down. There are also some safety ads to be shown in motorcycle magazines in Belgium. Click here to see the motorcycle (but it's in French).
