It's not a motocross event where everyone rides in black, but it's a famous Dutch motorcycle festival called in Dutch "Zwarte Cross Festival", or in the language of Shakespeare; "Black Cross Festival". It's one of Europe's largest motorcycle gathering & party. Located in the sticks (well.. Eastern Netherlands), the festival is a mixture of motocross, stunts, fun motorcycles and music - lots of it. There are 100 music bands on 12 different stages spread over the grounds. The three day festival is held from 25 to 27 July. The culmination of the three days is the Black Cross race, a motorcycle motocross race with some 500 motorcycles. But not all are what they seem. It's a race where anyone (who has registered in advance, and paid the €80 race fee) can take part, with no matter what kind of motorcycle. You're not going to find Cyril Despres, David Knight or Marc Coma racing, so maybe you stand a chance to win. Location: The location is close to Lichtenvoorde, The Netherlands . The festival site is the main camping site, so imagine a village that's partying for three days (bring earplugs). Price: Cheap....aout €17.50 per day (on Sunday, kids under 1 meter 40 have free entrance). Click here for some info on this crazy event
