BMW motorcycles is celebrating the 30 years of the GS motorcycle, their dual sport long distance adventure bike. Many BMW GS motorcycles have been used for RTWRound The World trips, or long distance adventures, including myself using a 1150GS in 2005 to follow the Dakar race in Africa. Apart from the different celebrations that BMW have organized, they have made available an electronic book of any BMW GSers out there. At the BMW site, you can post a two page summary of a memorable trip you have taken on your GS motorcycle, including photos. You can include your profile, the trip and photos. Once you've accessed the site, let it load, since it does take some time. You'll see a time-line loading from 1980 to 2010. Once it's loaded you'll see the book. Below the book is an index of the recent entries made. You can click on one of the index entries to load that trip, or just go page to page. It's quite interesting to read some. Already there are some 750+ entries made in the book. BMW have also given you, the reader, the possibility to rate the entries. Click here to access the BMW "Thank You GS" Book .
