BMW have a very good and interesting motorcycle training called the Off Road Skills course. The two day training puts you through your paces, and not only do you learn how to ride properly off road, but it boosts your confidence both on and off road.
Over the years, BMW have trained many riders all over the world using these excellent training. Their are BMW training centers spread around the world.
BMW UK have recently announced their new Skills Level 3 course which will be done on the new BMW G450X motorcycle.
Now let me tell you I did the Skills Level 1 course in Wales a few years back, and it almost killed me (in fact, my buddy broke his ankle during the training). So I can only imagine what Skills Level 3 will do to you. For sure, it will make you ready to race in the Dakar race. Few courses are as intense as this one, making your heart go thumpy-the-thump during both days. You learn to conquer your fears...
The chief instructor is none other than Simon "Si" Pavey, a 7 times Dakar racer (he ended 68th in thsi year's race), and personal trainer of Ewan McGregor and Charlie Boorman (Long Way Round and Long Way Down TV series), and the British Enduro Championship competitor and ISDE gold medalist Chris Hockey.
The training takes place in Wales with some of the most challenging grounds to train on. The level 3 course will cost UK£449 for two days (includes instruction, motorcycle, insurance, fuel, lunch and dinner).
Courses will be held from March to October. I highly recommend anyone from participating in these courses (even if it's "only" level 1).
