 There are a lot of advantages and disadvantages of electric motorcycles. The advantages are mostly in the incredible torque they generate, but also the very low cost of operating one. Also, they are a lot more ecological than the gasoline powered ones. But on the downside, they don't really conduct themselves like a "normal" motorcycle. They don't have gears, so no clutch. Electric motorcycle manufacturer Brammo have just released a motorcycle that has 6 gears. Using a technology called IET (Integrated Electric Transmission), you'll be able to determine which gear, and when to change, just like on a normal motorcycle. It gives the rider more control, not letting a computer decide. The design of the new technology was done by Italian firm SMRE. To show the world that it working the Brammo bike will be used this coming weekend in a race. The new technology looks like it's a winner. Have a look at the video below. Just like a "normal" motorcycle, except for the sound. Things are looking up for electric motorcycles...
