This has got to be a blow for electric motorcycle companies, and another sign that the Canadian authorities don't think too much about motorcycle in general. Ontario has recently announced an incredible electric vehicle purchase program, subsidizing EVs at the tune of $5,000 to $8,500. With that kind of money, you could envisage buying an electric motorcycle, even the latest, and very sexy, Brammo Empulse . I know, I would.... But it is not to be. The authorities have announced that the EV incentive applies only to electric cages, therefore if you were planning to buy an electric motorcycle or scooter, you're out of luck, and out of pocket. They also announced that the program is only for the first 10,000 applicants. 10,000? That's a drop in the ocean. Sounds more to me like a premature announcement, followed by someone actually getting their calculator out, scratching their collective bald heads, and say "Ooops, there goes our deficit". Bad Canada, Bad Canada!
