	Cannes Film Festival Will See New Taxi Service Using Victory Motorcycles 10 May 2011   File under  Travel   Author: Mike Werner   Location: Normandy, France The Cannes Film Festival (which starts this week) is a very high-brow, glamorous and glitzy affair, with the creme-de-la-creme of the movie, music and political industries coming together at the Cote d'Azur's prime spot, Cannes . Every year, dozens of A-list movie actors and actresses come to be seen, while movie directors and producers make the rounds trying to flog their movies to the international distributors. Dozens of parties very day, round the clock, means that the stars and other celebs need to be going from party to party, and doing that in Cannes in a car is not easy. They'll loose precious hours every day, just getting around the traffic jams, usually caused by the people who are star-spotting. To help these "poor" celebrities, a new motorcycle taxi service has started up in Cannes. Called ProtectDriver Services , the new taxi service uses an unusual kind of motorcycle, the Victory Vision. It may be unusual for a motorcycle taxi service, since they usually use Honda Gold Wings, but in glitzy Cannes, a Victory with its avant-garde shape is not out of place. Prices are not exorbitant, in fact very reasonable, a ride through Cannes will set you back €25, while riding from Cannes to Monaco to say "hi" to Prince Albert will cost you €130. The company is also very ecological, as far as they can. The motorcycles are washed using ecological products, the riders have received eco-driving lessons and every ride will result in a CO2 compensation through a CO2 bartering company. So if you're going to the Film Festival, you now know how to go in style, and if you're visiting on another date, it's a good way of beating the traffic jams.
