The Dakar race in South America is starting to demand a very heavy toll. After the French motorcycle rider, Pascal Terry dying on Sunday, on Friday a maintenance/ support truck had a frontal collision with a car, killing its two occupants on the spot. The accident happened 400 km North of the Chilean capital, Santiago. The truck was sent up ahead with tires for the 9th stage of the race. The truck's Argentinian driver, for an undetermined reason, strayed into the wrong lane, crashing into the small car. A Chilean and a Peruvian died in the crash. The truck driver has been arrested and is currently in jail pending for further investigations. That's three people dead. ... not good!
