This year's edition of the Dakar Open link in a new window is barely over and already they have announced the new route for the 2015 rally. This time it's going to be a round robin, starting at Buenos Aires and finishing in Buenos Aires.

From Argentina it'll go up into Bolivia, and this time it will do four stages there (instead of the single one done this year). Then it heads for Chile and back into Argentina.

The other big changes is that the rest days will be different for each category, and all categories will have marathon days (ie no assistance). The 9000 km race will start on January 4th 2015 and end the 17th of January.

The 2014 edition saw a total of 3.9 million spectators alongside the road, watching the race unfold.
