The legendary classic rock music band,The Doobie Brothers , could be called the official biker music group. Since the 70's, these famous musicians have been the Hells Angels favorite band, and they have played at many, if not most, big motorcycle events (like Sturgis, Love Rider, Laughlin River Run, etc). The words "Doobie Brothers" are often mentioned in the same sentence with the word "motorcycle", and it's always positive. The band started playing in the 70's, and probably their biggest hit is "Listen To The Music ". The band has been on/off over some 30 years, but still are very active. How many present day music groups do you think will still be active 30 years from now?
Pat Simmons | Several of the group's members ride motorcycles (click here to see our The Doobie Brothers in Celebs on Motorcycles site ), and their charismatic singer, guitarist and songwriter, Pat Simmons, collects motorcycles (see photo). The Doobie Brothers have recently released a new album called "World Gone Crazy". Their new songs are great motorcycle riding music. With the title song "World Gone Crazy ", or "Young Man's Game " or ballads like "Far From Home ", they made an excellent addition to my iPhone/iPod riding playlist. The band is currently in negotiations with Harley-Davidson for an upcoming promotion, so expect to see much more of them. Their most popular song, "Nobody", from the new album is in fact a remake of their 1971 album, and it's very good. Check out the video below of the song. The video is nicely done, since it mixes images from their origins with present day images.
