There have been several reports in discussion forums and blogs on the internet that the Ducati Diavel is a sell-out, and that waiting lists and supply delays have been increasing over the last few weeks for Ducati's power cruiser. The 162 hp motorcycle is a cross between a classic cruiser and a superbike, and though not cheap, it's selling like hot croissants. Though initially received with a lot of scepticism at the launch last year, including from us, subsequent ride reports have shown that the Diavel is hot! Although aimed at the cruiser market, and therefore the North American market, it's selling like hot cakes in Europe. I visited a dealer in France yesterday, and he reported that indeed they can not keep a Diavel in the showroom for more than a few hours before it's bought. They have no stock, and even the demo model is being eyed by the clients. Currently they have a delay for someone who wants to buy one of October this year, and it's looking like it'll get worse, not better. The Diavel is outselling the Ducati Multistrada by far, close more to 1 Multistrada for 8 Diavels. It's not only in France. The UK are reporting similar sales. Have a look at the video below from Bike Torque TV who have interviewed a Ducati dealer. Who would have expected this? Probably Ducati with their devilish marketing and designs know-how.
