I had reviewed the original DVD Hard Miles last year (link  ). The Documentary is about "racing" (I use the word lightly, since it's not speed racing) in the Iron Butt Rally (Click for more info on Iron Butt Association ).
Hard Miles 2 is a sequel to the Iron Butt 2007 Rally. Like the original Hard Miles, it's about the preparation and riding of the 2009 Iron Butt Rally, consisting of 11 days and totally 11,000 of hard and grueling miles.
The DVD starts with some really interesting statistics, including for example the number of people who have been in outer space, and the number of people who have finished an Iron Butt Rally (I'll not tell you who has more, but you can probably guess).
It's full of interesting info, like even if you finish the whole distance, if you do not have the minimum number of bonus points, you are still seen as DNFDid Not Finish (imagine riding that distance and not finishing officially). The rules are tough, like if you loose your name tag, you are docked 1000 points.
As usual, there are lots of BMWs and Honda Gold Wings, plus an assortment of other motorcycles, many of them "old".

The DVD is nicely done, with interviews, riding sequences, preparation, etc, all for the scavenger hunt on steroids. You get the see the contestants under all sorts of riding conditions, sun, rain, storm and extreme hot weather. You also get a nice glimpse at the USA and some tourist "attractions" that you may not see otherwise.
All-in-all, it's a very well made DVD, very professional, with lots of interesting information. Whether you ever plan to ride the Iron Butt, or just interested in seeing tired folks riding motorcycles for 11 days, the DVD is recommendable. It also show you that sequels don't necessary have to be worse than the original.
