Score: Plot: 2 Acting: 5 Visual: 3 Sound: 4 Nudity: None Gore: None | What started out like a good documentary about Harley-Davidson motorcycles and the Spirit of America turned out to be a disappointment. The 82 minute long DVD, made in 2004, entitled "Harley-Davidson The Spirit Of America" shows a little bit of the history of the Milwaukee motorcycle manufacturer, a lot of interviews (with a dealer, artist, photographer and riders), it touches on the Buell brand, shows a vintage TV ad (seen already on this site), a bit on women and Harleys, a few famous rides (Love Ride, Hells Angels Toys Run, Sturgis, Patriot ride) and a lot about one single dealer in Arizona. In fact, it looks more like a promo for this dealer. Most of the interviews are pretty boring, more an interview in order to interview than to get some interesting information. Motorcycle Clubs Covered: Ice Cream Men from Hell, Ladies of Harley, Hells Angels, Viet Nam Vets, Soldiers for Jesus Celebs (just images): Gary Busey, Willie G. Davidson, Sonny Barger, Jay Leno, Peter Fonda, Pat Boone, ZZ Top Quotes: "These bankers, lawyers, nerds can kiss my bleeding ass" Verdict: A quickly to forget documentary. Note: You can watch the whole documentary below. It was apparently put on YouTube for free.
