Easy Way Of Opening Gates /Garage Doors From Your Motorcycle

This is what I'd call the Egg of Columbus Open link in a new window. The eternal problem for people who ride motorcycles and have a gate or/and garage door.

You arrive after your long and hard ride, and then you need to get off your motorcycle, walk to the door or gate and open it. Do that a few times during the week, and you'll be looking for other ways of opening gates.

One way is simply a remote control. You'll either need to fix the zapper on your motorcycle somewhere, or put it in your pocket and when the moment arrives, search for it (which is what I do).

Or you can use one of the many other gadgets available.

But here's THE solution. All you need is a Bluetooth enabled mobile phone and one of these things; the BlueGuard Open link in a new window.

The BlueGuard, as all Bluetooth enabled devices, "feels" your presence within 10 meters (33 feet). Once you are within range, and your mobile phone has been paired (programmed), the doors/gate open or close automatically. You can also add a magnetic switch that needs to be triggered first. Pretty handy, since the last thing you want to happen is when you walk past your gate, that it opens or closes just because you are walking there. Opening and closing should happened only when you are in a car or motorcycle.

Up to 10 different Bluetooth mobile phones can be programmed, meaning unless your family extends to 10 people, anyone can use the system.

Very handy. Just ride up, and doors and gates open automatically. Price: Around US$200 (not for the openers, just for the device).
