Aprilia, like all good Italian companies, started late, and were nicely disorganized. But then, they know how to build motorcycles, so I guess I need to forgive them... Aprilia started with a small presentation which couldn't be seen from where I was standing, of some new 125 cc motorcycles and scooters, but we'll forget those for the time being.. Their CEO did the initial presentation of their new FV2 concept motorcycle: At least no lengthy financial speeches... They then unveiled the new concept motorcycle... wooow... it looks real and ready to hit the road. You don't want to be wearing sneakers with those exhausts... This will give you an idea of our working conditions...the only reason my photos are reasonable is because I'm tall, strong and mean looking... Here's a different angle. The engine is a 1200 cc DOHC design as currently used by their Shiver motorcycle. According to Aprilia, the motorcycle only weighs 160 kgs, something very hard to believe.. They use fly-by-wire technology, but that wouldn't result in such a dramatic weight loss... More when I read the press releases..
