The first press presentation at EICMA 2007 fell on Ducati... who else. They presented one new motorcycle, and two updated models, so let's start with the most expected updated, the new Ducati Monster 696.

Although it was the last presentation, it was made with a lot of fanfare...

The new Monster looks like a ... Monster..

Inside the motorcycle there have been many changes.

There's a small indentation in the fuel tank...

The instrument panel is all digital, and gives you a lot of data, including outside temperature. The system is ready for Ducati's Data Acquisition, but not equipped with it.

The engine has gained 1 cc, lost weight, and now weighs 161 kgs, making it the lightest of its class.

The dual exhausts are massive...

That's it for the Ducati Monster 696. More when I get the time to read the press releases.

Man, I'm underwhelmed by the missing tail section. I never cared for the bobtail look on the Buells, either. It's like the bike is inflatable, and the back half is slowly deflating.

I guess I'll have to wait and see what the 800~ and the 1100 models look like. But the Street Triple and Shiver just moved above the new Monster on my list.

The Bike Looks Great, plus the warranty and service is improved, can't wait to see it in person and wonder how much would it cost...

    Should make good first bike?
