The dual-sport motorcycle market was already getting crowded (recently Ducati, Triumph, et al) , and now Honda made it even more difficult to select an adventure motorcycle. After the enormous success the BMW have had with their GS series, almost every manufacturer wants a stab at the title. Honda already have very capable dual-sports bikes, but their new concept motorcycle, the Crosstourer, is based on their new V4 engine. It was presented at Eicma 2010. You can click on any photo for a larger version. With 1200cc, the bike should be capable of riding smooth on paved roads, but riding on unpaved roads could be a not-so pleasant experience, but then, only time will tell. The V4 engine could make things interesting, and their Dual Clutch Transmission (from the VFR1200F) should make it easier "off-road". But the clutch system was designed for paved roads, so it's something that needs to be seen and tested. For a concept bike, it looks like it's ready to roll off the production line, so I suppose that Honda will release the motorcycle next year. So much for concept. The only things we'll need to wait for is performance, rideability and price.
