KTM , known for their very financial and top heavy presentations, surprised us with a cool and well done launch of three new motorcycles. They did do a bit on the financial figures, but it was short & sweet, kudos to the Master of Ceremony, Toby Moody (TV presenter at EuroSport). The nice part of the KTM presentation was that they had brought out most of their Champions, all masters in their discipline. They were hanging out together, joking and shooting the breeze. Everyone is a champion in their sport, but all on KTM. A wall of talent. When Toby stated his presentation, they all nicely sat down to listen. Next came a short view of the market and the finances of KTM. All is well... Then the KTM Duke 690 got unwrapped. It looks like a ... Duke, except it's 692 cc. Nice and simple office. Brought to a minimum. Here's one version "Made To Travel", with its cases. They then talked about the Freeride 350, showed a video, but did not unveil it. The next unveiling was for the electric Freeride, e-Freeride. Quite a sexy electric bike, with a nice, and at times funny, video presentation. Here's its engine. Marc Coma looked like he was doubting next year's Dakar... ... while Cyril Despres looked very much at ease. The interesting thing was that you could see these KTM champions walking around the exhibition halls, going in to stands to talk about products from manufacturers. Nice to see their interest.
