Their press conference has not been held, but I found this French leaflet in the press center today, and only now did I pay attention. Zero motorcycles will be showing off their improvements on their electric motorcycles at Eicma. Their new engines will increase in range, up to 114 miles (183 kilometers) for the Zero S and Zero DS. The Zero X, MX and XU get a good 75% extra range. The new Z-Force battery will be able to support up to 3,000 electric charges beore it reaches 80% of its maximum charge (that's when you need to replace the battery). Two capacity types are now available for customer of the Zero S and the DS, the choice is yours. As for speed and torque, they have all been improved. All models have received a torque increase (no mention what the number is), and the Zero S will have a top speed of 88 mph (142 kph), and the Zero DS will race you up to 75 mph (129 kph). The new brushless engine is cleaner, and cooled by forced air, and as most electric engines will not require any maintenance. The road models will have a energy regenerating scheme going with the brakes. A pillion passenger kit will be available for the Zero S and DS. This was a quick translation. Tomorrow we should know more.
