You probably thought it would never happen, but surprise !! The first electric power Harley motorcycle has seen the light of day. It's not from the Harley company, but from Carl Vogel (bio-diesel provider). He took a plain vanilla Harley-Davidson, put in 10 car batteries (560 pounds of weight), an electrical engine and a diesel generator (running on bio-diesel, and used to charge the batteries in case you run out of juice. Normal charging takes 3 hours. He's also got a solar panel for on the run charging). The Harley can run at respectable speeds of up to 85 mph, has 78 h.p. and 5 gears. There's an extensive article and video of Carl and his electrical Harley at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (click to read).
