More and more motorcycles are being converted to electric (or hybrid), and that's a good thing. Not many main stream manufacturers have started yet (just some minor experiments), but several people have converted their fossil burning motorcycles into electric ones. Here's Mike Reish's electric motorcycle, a 1998 Honda CBR 600 F3, converted with a 72V Briggs and Stratton Etek Permanent Magnet DC engine. His Honda motorcycle (we can safely remove the 600 for the model) now contains 6 batteries, and has a top speed of 55 mph and a range of 5 miles. The batteries are old, so he will not get very far, apart from riding to get a loaf of bread at the local bakery. Click here for more information. If you are interested in electric motorcycles, there's a very good website, including a blog, related 100% to electric motorcycles. Click here to have a look (ElectricMotorcycles.net)
