For those of you who are interested in seeing this wacky and very tough beach motorcycle enduro race, the Le Touquet Enduropale  , here's your chance without moving out of your home (or office).
One of the sponsors, the national TV station France 3 will be transmitting a large part of the three hours of the race on TV. But they will be streaming the whole race on their web site. It'll be in French, but the language of motorcycles is international.
You'll be able to watch this incredible race, where 1000+ motorcycles compete in deep sand, where professionals have as biggest obstacles, not the man made dunes and jumps, but the slow, often still standing, Sunday amateurs.
But what is going to make this race even more memorable, is that they are predicting snow for the weekend. So you can image what kind of race that will be... not only will they be racing in deep sand, but maybe even deep snow.
I have not able to determine if the web site has a geo-localization lock on it, preventing people from abroad from seeing the race, but in 2010, there was none.
This year, one of the most notable off-road motorcycle racers will be present, the 2012 Dakar winner Cyril Despres . Unfortuneately, not as a racer, but as support for the international rugby player, Christian Califano , a friend and motorcycle race pupil of Despres (Califano also raced in the 2011 Dakar, and finished last, but at least he finished).
The race starts around 13:00 CETCentral European Time zone. Time zone for most of Europe - Amsyerdam, Paris, Madrid, Rome (1 PM).

If you're planning to attend world's craziest, and biggest, beach motorcycle race, the Le Touquet Enduropale, on next weekend (February 4 & 5), and you're going on a motorcycle, here are the special rest places for bikers.
There are 3 of them, places motorcycle riders can go to, to get their bike checked out, drink hot drinks, and mingle with other bikers.
Also, several motorways should be free for motorcycles going to the race. |
