We're a few weeks away from one of world's toughest motorcycle enduro races, the Austrian Erzberg Rodeo. Held between June 11 and 14, and despite other international motorcycles events planned for those dates, the Erzberg Rodeo roster is full of stars. Last year's Red Bull Hare Scramble winner (and the previous year), KTM factory rider Taddy Blazusiak will be back to defend his title. Twice winner and Dakar Champion Cyril Despres will be trying to get his crown back. Other stars include Chris Birch, the New Zealand based extreme-enduro professional, and the multi-winner of the Roof-of-Africa, South African Darryl Curtis. The Polish Taddy Blazusiak will be riding a KTM 250 EXC, while Despres, Birch and curtis will race on a KTM 300 EXC. Spanish Dakar winner, Marc Coma, will also be there, competing in the Iron Road Prologue on a KTM 690 motorcycle. © GEPA | BMW have fielded a large team as well, ready to fight Austrian KTM in their own back yard. German Andreas Lettenbicher and Gerhard Forster, Austrian Enduro champ, Rudi Poschl, Jade Gutzeit and Gray Dick will all be there on a BMW G450X. Husaberg will have its own team present, with Shane Cuthbertson, Jared Thomas (both Canadian), Thomas Gunther (German) and the Snowboard world Champion Erich Brandauer. Husaberg FE 450 and FE 570's will be used. Last year's big surprise will be there as well. Frenchman Antoine Letellier will be riding his Aprilia RXV 550! Additionally, 12 times Trials world Champion, British Doug Lampkin will be there, as well as Paul Bolton. A total of 85 top level riders will be present in this year's edition. 1,500 riders from 33 countries are registered to compete in the exceptional event. This is going to be one crazy race.
