If there's anytime you need a motorcycle or scooter, it's when you need to go into a congested city. When traffic is at a standstill, motorcycles usually can carve their way through traffic and arrive at the destination on time. Dutch GPS manufacturer TomTom has been recording their user's GPS data; they receive anonymous data from the TomTom GPS, so they know when a car has slowed down, or stopped entirely. So they can see when and where the traffic gets dense. Using this statistical data, TomTom have compiled a list of European cities that are the most jammed up. They also publish a very detailed report on when and where traffic slows down. You can read the detailed PDF report by clicking here . The report shows all major cities in Europe, not just the top 10. If you're interested in the same but for North America, click here to read the North American report . Using this data, TomTom can direct their users to avoid traffic jams when using the GPS when entering one of these cities. Here are the top 10 European congested cities, in other words, these are the cities where riding a motorcycle makes the most sense. 1.Istanbul (Turkey) - 57% busier at peak times than during non-peak times 2.Warsaw (Poland) - 45% 3.Marseille (France) - 40% 4.Palermo (Italy) - 40% 5.Rome (Italy) - 34% 6.Paris (France) - 34% 7.Stuttgart (Germany) - 33% 8.Brussels (Belgium) - 32% 9.Hamburg (Germany) - 32% 10.Stockholm (Sweden) - 30%
