Delticom , Europe's biggest internet provider of tires, has performed an interesting survey of the summer holiday habits of European motorcycle riders. A total of 1,234 bikers in seven countries were surveyed on where they were going on their holidays.
The total number of kilometers to be ridden is astonishing; 3.4 million kilometers, that's 85 times around the world. And that by only 1,234 bikers. On average, each motorcycle will be riding 2,729 kilometers for their holiday.
Who Goes The Furthest?
Without much surprise, the Dutch go the furthest, considering that The Netherlands is flat and so small that after you have reached 4th gear on your motorcycle you are already outside the country. The Dutch ride an average of 3,018 kilometers to go on holiday on two wheels, often as far as Russia Ghana and the USA.
The British riders take second place. Again not a big surprise since the England is an island, and you need to go pretty far to ride interesting roads. The British bikers will ride an average of 2,956 kilometers for their holidays, sometimes as far as Kenya and Portugal.
Third place is held by Germany, with an average of 2,858 kilometers.
