FEMA , The Federation of European Motorcyclists' Associations, are organizing their 11th motorcycle ride for the European Parliament. Some 30 Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) will be going on this ride-out, either as pillion or on their own motorcycle. The ride is planned on this Wednesday 5th of September in Strasbourg, France . While they have the MPs undivided attention, FEMA will be presenting their views of the European Commission's Green Paper on Urban Transport, and the role motorcycles can play in urban areas, addressing pollution, congestion, infrastructure and social inclusion. After the 57 kilometer ride, a dinner will be offered (I hope they don't serve wine...). Good initiative. They should make it mandatory for all MPs to go once a year on a motorcycle, just to know what we're facing. Maybe we'll get a few more converts. More information on the ride, click here
