After the introduction of the entrance and Fiat Yamaha team hospitality area, it was time for some of the more serious business, that of seeing the pits, and of course their two famous riders. We'll no longer show you the number of security check points (see the previous post), but needless to say, the MotoGP area is probably better guarded than the White House. At least here, there were no un-invited party crashers.... So we headed down the pits area The wall-to-wall trucks were very visible, it's hard to miss Trucks as far as the eyes can see, on both sides (left and right) In the midst of all these trucks are two, blue trucks. The Fiat Yamaha team trucks, the left one is Rossi's, the right one Lorenzo's. Everywhere you looked are small 50cc Yamaha scooters, used by the team to get around. Once you get through the last security, you are in THE PLACE, the pit box of the team. In the main work area, is one Yamaha race motorcycle.... but when you look outside... ... there are 1000's of fans waiting to see the racers for autograph Friday.... left and ... ... and right... 1000's of screaming fans. Two of the race Yamaha were parked for the fans to admire. Here is Lorenzo's.. ..and Rossi's. While in the inside, they are still working on the bikes ... and then Jorge Lorenzo came out, with incredible cheering.... .. and Jorge went out to meet his many fans. He went and signed papers, t-shirts, posters, even a back protector. In the mean time, the only sign of Rossi were two of his helmets. And then Rossi walked out, and the noise level was that of a 747 taking off. He was besieged by fans and photographers alike. Notice the security guys pushing back the fences... And after signing 100's of autographs, and having had his photo taken with fans, he waved good-bye and went to work. He went into a conference huddle with his engineers over his bike. In the mean time Lorenzo was leaving, and went past a few die-hard fans. Then it was Rossi's turn to go to his motorhome. Fans will ask you to sign anything, and I mean anything.... ... including casts... And off went Rossi on his powerful Yamaha... 50 cc scooter....
