After a long day at the French MotoGP, we spent the rest of the afternoon at the Fiat Yamaha team hospitality area, writing up articles and processing photos. Finally, at 21:00 we got hungry, and tired, and join the festivities reserved for the team: it was Mexican night, and all the delicious food was Mexican. The hospitality staff had dressed up in "Mexican" clothes (they just cut a hole in table clothes, and pulled them over their heads, but the effect was funny), and all staff turned up, at some stage of the night (since many work non-stop). Sorry, the next 3 photos were taken from my iPhone, so not good quality: Yes, even Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi came to eat the food, and right they were, since it was very good, if not great (yes I do have photos, but since it's a private party, I'm not publishing.) After the meal, at 22:30, we left the hospitality area, and were immediately assaulted by the sound of very loud motorcycle engines. I initially thought this was from the MotoGP teams, who were working on their bikes, but I was told that this sound comes from the very drunken spectators at the campings, and that this will continue all night, and into the morning. The following photos were taken after 10:30 PM, but since the ISO value was set very high (6400), it might look like daylight, but it's pitch dark. To the left the pits, to the right, the hospitality area. Flood lit and the Fiat Yamaha team still at work. The... ahum, cough, Ducati hospitality center. The famous Le Mans Ferris wheel in the distance. The MotoGP organizers, still at work. No sleep for the wicked. Car parks were still pretty full at that time of the night. 1000's of fans are walking around aimlessly, many don't have a place to sleep, and all they'll do is drink until they pass out. A lot of parties going on...and a lot of drinking. And finally through the tunnel, and we're off to the hotel, quickly file these photos, and sleep.. early morning tomorrow.
