Another day, another race. Today, we'll show you a bit of the paddock area at Le Mans. We left reasonably late with the Fiat Yamaha team from the hotel, since we were up all hours of the night. The noise levels all night long were astonishing, even when you consider we are some 15 kms away from the track. Most traffic on the road are motorcycles, and you've got to remember, it's only Saturday, so we can imagine how tomorrow will be. Once you arrive close to the circuit, you get to see this: Cars, mobile homes, caravans... and... .... tents pitched up almost anywhere. Most of them where right up alongside the road, so I can't imagine that they get much shut-eye. Traffic had gotten very dense, and things were moving very slowly. The main gate was swamped by people trying to buy tickets, enormous queues. Inside the circuit area are all the vendor stalls, selling anything from souvenirs, to helmets, to food & drinks. FP1 had just started, and already people where 3 to 4 deep watching. IMHO, I think this weekend is going to be a record number of spectators (or are they all coming to see me?). Inside the enclosed paddock area are a bunch of enormous motorhomes. If you look closely, the 3rd truck/motorhome from the left had a yellow "46". Here it is from the other side. Yes, this is Valentino Rossi's motorhome. On all European races, this is where he sleeps, no luxury hotels for Rossi. The same for Lorenzo, who has his own motorhome. ... some of the other rider's motorhomes. Some of the "other" hospitality areas on the way to the Fiat Yamaha team . And that concludes a quick tour of the paddock area. We hope you enjoyed this short trip, and don't forget to rip your tour gudie...
