Firefighters deserve our admiration and respect, I don't think you'd doubt that. Many a boy (and even girls) have dreamed to be a firefighter, saving lives and extinguishing fires. But... firefighters ride big, red, and noisy engines (OK, OK .. that's fun too). Danish company Firexpress manufacturers firefighting equipment, and one of them is a complete unit that gets installed onto a BMW R1200RT motorcycle. The advantage of placing this equipment on a motorcycle is obvious: you get to the scene much quicker than any big red fire engine, no matter how many bells & sirens it has. The BMW motorcycle is equipped with two tanks of 25 liters (pressure 20 bars), and a 6.8 litre tank of compressed air. The attached hose can be up to 30 meters long. This allows the firefighter to arrive on the scene and immediately start hosing things down. Then when that big red & noisy fire-truck finally arrives, all it has to do is clean up the mess. Now, don't you want to be a firefighter? They also fit their stuff on a cruiser, but then I don't think this does it for me.... Click here for more information (including video)
