 The sales statistics for 2011 for electric motorcycles and scooters have been published, and the market is declining in France (down 17% over 2010). Most of the eBikes are 50cc equivalents with a scatter of 125cc-like bikes sold. During 2011, a total of 1202 electric motorcycles and scooters were sold, almost half of them (40.9%) were Matra e-Mo scoots (50cc equivalent). E-Solex is doing nicely in the country that invented the Solex, with 16.9% of the market. The first 125cc-like scooter is the Electric City with 27 units sold, representing 2.2% of the French market. Zero only sold 4 units in France. Maybe things will shake up a bit when Brammo arrives in Europe, but these figures are very low, and no dealer in his right mind is going to sell electric motorcycles. | Brand/Model | Units | Market % | Equivalent | Matra e-Mo | 492 | 40,9 % | 50 cc | e-Solex | 203 | 16,9 % | 50 cc | Yamaha EC-03 | 83 | 6,9 % | 50 cc | BHM e-Road | 62 | 5,2 % | 50 cc | SEV eTricks | 57 | 4,7 % | 50 cc | | E-Max | 50 | 4,2 % | 50 cc | | E-Velec | 39 | 3,2 % | 50 cc | | Electric City | 27 | 2,2 % | 125 cc | | Vectrix | 19 | 1,6 % | 125 cc | | Cyel | 19 | 1,6 % | 50 cc | | Kosmob | 18 | 1,5 % | 50 cc | | Electtra | 16 | 1,3 % | 50 cc | | iO | 9 | 0,7 % | 50 cc | | Yiying | 9 | 0,7 % | 50 cc | | EVT | 8 | 0,7 % | 50 cc | | Bike Board | 8 | 0,7 % | 50 cc | | Benzhou | 8 | 0,7 % | 50 cc | | Jonway | 8 | 0,7 % | 50 cc | | Ego | 5 | 0,4 % | 50 cc | | Zero Motorcycle | 4 | 0,3 % | 125 cc | | Quantya | 3 | 0,2 % | 125 cc | | Lukas | 2 | 0,2 % | 50 cc | | Sanyou | 2 | 0,2 % | 50 cc | | Argreen | 1 | 0,1% | 50 cc | | remainder..50 cc | 36 | 3,0 % | 50 cc | | remainder..125 cc | 14 | 1,2 % | 125 cc |
