 France has been very successful in combatting speeding cars and motorcycle by using high tech digital radars. They have been a bit too successful. According to the French government, there is now less need for motorcycle cops. Therefore, the government is planning to lay-off 240 motorcycle Police, representing 36% of all the national Police motorcycle cops. Strange, since the President of France, Sarkozy, has been promising increased security, specially on the French roads. The French motorcycle cop, a respected member of the brotherhood of bikers, does not only chase vehicles that are going too fast, they serve many other useful roles. NOTE: This involves the "Police National" unit, not the Gendarmerie, which is a totally different unit. So the motorcycle cops have fallen victim to the radars.....
