Not a bad idea. In France, an insurance company will subsidize the purchase of a Helite  airbag vest or jacket, to the tune of a maximum of €200. You'll need to subscribe your motorcycle insurance with the Mutuelle-Europe , and buy one of Helite's Airbag jackets. Helite offer many different models, ranging from simple hi-vis vests (but with integrated airbag, prices start at €419) to full motorcycle jackets (ranging from €429 to €639).
Depending on the model, the insurance company reimburses between €100 and €200.
Wouldn't it be great if all insurance companies reimburse part of any safety gear purchased, like helmets, gloves, etc. It's in their best interest...
