Last year, the Paris, France based once-every-two-years motorcycle exhibition, Mondial du Deux Roues , had to be cancelled thanks to the global economic/financial crisis. Too many motorcycle manufacturers cancelled their presence at the show, reserving their limited money for wold's biggest expo, Milan's Eicma . The Paris, France show is not known to be the biggest, or the best, but it fills a useful role. It alternates with Germany's Intermot , and give manufacturers an alternative to EICMA. It's the reason that this year, the Mondial was not held, since it was Intermot's turn. Next year the Mondial returns, but at some really strange dates. The exhibition is scheduled for 30 November until 4 December. The reason it's strange, is that normally Intermot and Mondial are held before EICMA, giving the manufacturers a chance to release in small doses their information before bombarding the press with new models. Placing the expo after EICMA means that there will be very little left for the manufacturers to release to the worldwide press, and therefore the Mondial will become just another local motorcycle exhibition. In other words, it will disappear. Strange for an exhibition organizer that hosts world's biggest and most respected car exhibition. Pity, since it was the easiest expo for me to attend.
