	France: Motorcycle Illegally Parked? To The Pound 10 June 2010   File under  France   Author: Mike Werner   Location: Normandy, France They're not kidding around anymore in Paris with motorcycle parking. So far, it has been raining parking tickets, since the Parisian Mayor has decided that motorcycles can only park in legal spots, and there are very few of them available. Until recently, you ended up with a parking fine, but many motorcycle riders took the chance and parked on the sidewalk anyway. But recently, they have started towing away the motorcycle, bringing them to a, usually far away, pound. For the privilege of being towed and brought to the pound, the price has been increased by 20%. You'll pay €110 for the tow truck cost, and €4.60 for everyday you leave it at the pound, excluding the parking ticket (which BTW is not paid at the pound but directly to the city). The cost of towing a car is identical to that of a motorcycle or scooter, no discount for having only two wheels.
